A new pallet order should begin with the unit load. Outside dimensions alone do not establish deck support, stiffness, safe performance, entry type, or compatibility with a warehouse system. Winter Garden Pallets collects the job details and works through the Pallet Junction network to identify an available regional manufacturing or supply option.

Standard 48 × 40 New Pallets

The 48 × 40 footprint is widely used, but buyers should still confirm stringer or block construction, top- and bottom-board configuration, entry requirements, expected load, storage method, and whether the pallet will be reused. A supplier may offer more than one construction at this size, and the lowest-priced version may not be suitable for every operation.

Custom Pallet Design Information

For a custom quote, provide length, width, desired height, product footprint, total weight, weight distribution, center of gravity, packaging type, forklift or pallet-jack access, rack or conveyor use, stacking method, shipping environment, and anticipated trips. Photographs or a sample pallet can help identify details that are difficult to describe.

New, Combination, and Remanufactured Options

A new pallet generally uses new lumber to meet an agreed construction. Combination or remanufactured pallets can incorporate recovered components and may offer a useful balance between consistency, cost, and sustainability. The appropriate category depends on the buyer’s written requirements and customer expectations.

Heat Treatment for Export

If the pallet will support an international shipment, state the destination and required compliance before production. Heat treatment and marking must be handled under the applicable program; they cannot be assumed from clean appearance or kiln-dried lumber. Review the ISPM-15 planning guide.

Lead Time and Delivery

Lead time varies with design complexity, lumber availability, quantity, treatment, current production schedules, and delivery route. Share realistic monthly or weekly demand so capacity can be evaluated. Receiving hours, appointments, dock access, unloading responsibility, and urgent-delivery expectations should be included before freight is scheduled.

Quality Expectations

A useful purchase specification can address dimensions and tolerances, component sizes, deck-board spacing, fasteners, allowable defects, moisture or cleanliness needs, treatment, marking, sample approval, and how nonconforming pallets will be handled. Unusual or high-risk loads may require professional unit-load engineering.
